The Way of Becoming

4-6 months. Rewire your Nervous System for a New Life.

Rewire your brain, body and rewild a new foundation of self: reclaiming what feels lost.

A profound 1:1 healing journey for burnout, complex trauma or a lifetime of nameless dysregulation, grief and attachment wounding.

A program of rebirth for those ready to retrieve what feels lost and become new after trauma.

Do you still feel the ache of nameless grief and symptoms despite spending years trying to heal?

You’ve likely done so much work— but your nervous system still lives in chronic state of survival or disconnect — from a life that you’d love to be living . . . fully.

The Way of Becoming is an intensive, soulful 1:1 nervous system program designed for people who are at a threshold — deeply engaged in healing, but needing to receive so much more support to completely return to life.

This work is both recovery and rebirth: on a physiological, emotional and spiritual level.

Maybe this also sounds like you? You’re no longer the person you were —pushing yourself so hard to ‘succeed’, overly tolerant of others’ behavior, self-effacing, disappearing completely in relationship, or self-harming with negative self-talk or substances: but you are also not yet who you are becoming.

There’s more here for you than the exhausted cloud of your own survival —and it starts with your nervous system and ends with you, embodying aliveness.

Your nervous system may not recognize safety because you never got to exist. Fully.

Your earliest wound — is one of absence or threat. So you became a listening, caring, effective, supportive presence for others. A great student or employee…until you burnt tf out. But who are you when it all comes crashing down?

Maybe your symptoms are simply trying to get you to repair this hidden place of deeper neglect. The emptiness of where you had to shut-down, but lost yourself.

This pattern of over-giving, over-functioning was an intelligent way to survive. But you never learned how to receive, yield and feel supported by life.

We are habituated to what fits our neural-map of reality — so if you’ve consistently delt with relational neglect, abuse, codependency or normalized toxic or unsafe environments, its likely that you don’t even recognize inner needs and baseline safety as valid because you had to survive through internalizing the intensity around you so deeply.

The body will only take so much repression — those pesky symptoms of chronic pain, anxiety, fatigue are likely a vital voice expressing the need to exist, to actualize consciousness to feel what was lost — and respond.

In the Way of Becoming, our work is to break the loop of survival based in self-negation and restore goodness. We reclaim a new embodied harmonic of *welcome* for those vital places of overwhelm and shutdown and bridge that stuck energy into self-healing power. You can walk out of the misery of the past and across the threshold that is your birthright: unwounded aliveness and the freedom, fullness of your existence.

Nervous System Healing for what you thought couldn’t be healed.

You have done a lot of work. Maybe you even became a practitioner yourself. But sometimes the harder we work, the worse we feel.

No amount of therapy or meditation or psychedelic journeywork will likely fundamentally shift trauma and relational patterning that lives in your skin, in your physiology. A sense of absence or threat that formed you before you formed language.

Does this sound like you?

  • "Any day now…I’ll finally get to live”

  • “I thought it was normal to work this hard to heal. I can’t keep this up.”

  • “Some days I’m super functional, other days I’m reeling with extreme pain, hardship or emotion.”

  • “I don’t feel like I fully exist — I survive.”

  • “I understand my patterns, but keep feeling abandoned or negated in my relationships. “

  • “I shut down, people-please, panic or self-isolate because - this is how I had to survive and it still feels like the only way. “

You've made progress — you’re not in crisis and hopefully no longer in a state of abject suffering any longer. Perhaps you've even healed the severity of some symptoms, but something soul-deep and foundational hasn't changed.

We are built to survive, not to change. If your body is smart, sensitive and your adaptation great enough, your nervous system won’t change no matter how much work you do.

I get it. I’ve survived untold trials where there was no bottom to suffering and the more I just tried harder— the more I shouldered impossible burdens, alone - and exiled. I thought healing was an act of endless effort and will.

Yet, I never gave up on the possibility of learning to receive love, ease, safety, support and freedom from trauma —and I’m guessing you haven’t either.

When we can repair the relational root of our pain and reclaim our humanity, life can become profoundly and nourishingly more supportive, viable.

Are you ready? Learn the details below and apply or join the waitlist - it’s time for deeper support to claim your new beginning.

WARNING: This work will require a level of courage that will challenge your very identity.

Recovery is not linear; sometimes things get worse before they get better. This work is deep - we work on the causal layer of suffering, allowing for what has shutdown to return to life. The stages of nervous system healing require much more time and slow, restful recovery than you may be willing to go through. I am not for everyone — and the depth or timing of the work might not be a fit.

But if you are called, try an initial session with me. I ask that you are willing to take full responsibility for your recovery process and commit to freeing yourself. If you are dauntless, determined and ready —- I want to work with you.

A threshold-walker, certified somatic coach—and body and earth-whispering guide.

Sean Maia Svoboda

I know what it means to heal. And healing is not what you’ve been told. It’s not fixing, it’s not transcending, and its not even overcoming.

Healing is Becoming who we really are.

I spent the ages of 21-33 mostly bedbound with undiagnosed systemic organ failure, living a harrowing underworld initiation after praying for my purpose. Those years I could hardly imagine surviving, but something deeper kept calling me forward — a bone-deep hope that I can heal myself completely.

Hour by hour for many years, I painfully willed myself to open, to listen, and surrender to something more powerful than life, death or heartache. It taught me everything I know — about love, aliveness and beauty.

I opened to receive the wisdom underneath this pain - and thus where I was sick, I committed to an arduous journey and initiation of becoming well.

I spent all those years working with others, while enduring the same initiations myself. It wasn’t until I discovered deeper relational repair and nervous system healing work that I crossed the threshold - from working so hard to heal— to more easefully, becoming.

Real change and healing is rare. I only work with those who are themselves dauntless, willing to love and embrace the pain and self-actualize their birthright aliveness. It won’t be easy - but if this is you, I would love to accompany you and completely walk out of the old nightmare, to emerge new.

The Way of Becoming is not for everyone.

Is it for you?

THE PROGRAM : THE WAY OF BECOMING

I would love to work with you.

We are not just healing trauma. We are building the foundation of a whole self: finding safety to fully exist, learning to receive connection, allowing the healthy ego to emerge and reconnecting to our unwounded blueprint.

The Way of Becoming is structured around how long the body actually needs — to unwind, recover and systematically regulate layers of survival. I’ve noticed it takes about 6 months of devotion for big state shifts to occur - and for your brain and body to rewire what was missing in the first place.

I only take a handful of clients due to the depth of this work, so commitment here is reciprocal. I bring 14 years and over 12,000 hours of coaching and clinical experience, and the wisdom of my own dauntless journey-from the dark night and fully back to life.

This is not for those who are new to what it takes to heal - and if you have serious mental health issues or are existing in unsafe situations, you are likely not be a fit for this program. I ask that you are also resourced with a licensed therapist or other medical support team to embark on this program.

If you are dauntless and ready for a new story, you found my work for a reason. Time will keep going by- but you can begin to finally live again.

Everything you want to know
before you reach out

Sessions are 90 minutes — long enough to move through layers of old patterning, experience deeper recovery and actually get somewhere that sticks. The work might look a little different every session, but we will begin with setting an intention, checking in and moving into somatic coaching. Then, we may shift to LENS Neurofeedback on the body or brain, which requires 20 or so minutes and very little effort on your part. A deep-dive into somatic movement, therapeutic work with energy work or craniosacral depending on what your system is needing that day. Some days you may only want to receive a really long bodywork session, other days we will bring in other elements like a part-day coaching retreat — unhurried, deeply held and genuinely restorative. My clients tend to leave feeling lighter than they have in years. With this combination of therapies — and this duration, that feeling tends to become the new normal.
Most somatic work is done in 50-minute windows, once a week, often without neurofeedback or touch. What makes this different is the integration — LENS working directly on your brain's firing patterns, touch communicating safety to your nervous system, and coaching holding the relational and identity arc across months. No single modality does all of this. The container itself — the length, the consistency, the attunement — is part of what creates the change.
LENS is one of the gentlest forms of neurofeedback available. It uses a very low-intensity radio frequency signal — far subtler than what your phone emits — to show your brain its own patterns and give it the information it needs to reorganize. Most people feel very little during the session itself. Afterward, some feel relaxed, tired, or emotionally soft. Occasionally people feel energized. Over time, the shifts are profound — improved sleep, reduced anxiety, clearer thinking, and a nervous system that finally knows how to settle.
Yes — and for many clients, having a good therapist to process what surfaces between sessions is genuinely supportive. This work goes to a physiological level that therapy does not reach, so the two can complement each other beautifully. I do ask that you be stable enough to do deep work — not in acute crisis, and willing to commit fully to the container.
Yes. All sessions are in-person in Denver, Colorado. The bodywork, LENS Neurofeedback and therapeutic touch require physical presence — this work cannot be replicated remotely. If you are not local but feel called to this program, reach out. Some clients have relocated temporarily or built their sessions around travel to Denver.
Life happens. Any session rescheduled with 24 hours or more notice will be honored and moved to the end of your program within your 6-month completion window. I ask for as much notice as possible so I can offer the space to someone else who needs it.
Because of what it actually takes — in time, in presence, in skill, and in the depth of relational attunement required to hold this work safely. When you add up the individual modalities, ongoing support and the graduation ceremony, the actual value exceeds $13,000. The program is priced at $5,500 paid in full — because I want this to be accessible to people who are genuinely ready, while honoring the true cost of what we create together.
Yes to both. Three payment options are available — paid in full at $5,500, a 4-month plan at $1,525/month, or an extended 6-month plan at $1,000/month with a $200 deposit to begin. A small number of partial scholarship spaces are available each year for those who are deeply ready but need additional financial support. Submit an application and we can talk about what's possible.
I take this seriously. The first session serves as a $200 trial — if after that session either of us feels it is not the right fit, we part with care and without further obligation. My goal is never to hold someone in a container that isn't serving them. What I ask in return is that you come with genuine openness and commitment — the work requires both of us to be fully present.
I previously served as an unlicensed Registered Psychotherapist — a designation in Colorado that applied to people working in addictions counseling and as layperson counselors after two years of training. This designation is no longer available in Colorado. I bring extensive training in ethics, confidentiality and a diverse background in mental health, including work in counseling centers and deep training in trauma repair — but I am not a licensed psychotherapist.

The Way of Becoming is a somatic coaching container, not psychotherapy, and is not a replacement for psychotherapy, mental healthcare or other medical services. If you are in active psychiatric care, I highly recommend continuing that support alongside this program. LENS Neurofeedback is not a replacement for medical treatment or medication — please consult your doctor or psychotherapist for all medical decisions. I genuinely encourage you to keep seeing your current mental health provider while we work together.
